The Drive for Scholarships is in full swing. The focus at this time is to complete the soliciting of business sponsorships which is extremely important as this revenue provides the largest portion of the funds raised through the Drive for Scholarships. The businesses have been generous throughout the years and value this opportunity to help support the higher educational opportunities for the youth of our communities.
In addition to securing the business sponsorships, letters will go out to individuals in the community asking for donations that will go for scholarship funding. This initiative is called the Circle of Friends which has reached a cross section of our community and also is contributed to by a number of Rotarians.
In June we will begin selling restaurant raffle tickets. These are sold by Rotarians, but doing so is voluntary. Many, however, have found that selling them is easy as people love the idea of a chance to win gift certificates to numerous restaurants. The prices will be the same as other years. ($5 for each ticket or 5 for $20)
The climax of the Drive for Scholarships is the Golf Tournament, this year being its 36th! The Tournament will be held at the Wyantenuck Country Club on Thursday, July 25th. Registration will begin at 8:00am and the Shot Gun Start is at 9:00am.
